This book is written by a chiropractor, whose personal health struggles began with a bicycle accident as a twelve-year-old child. After hitting his head on the cement, he began to experience nasal problems with sneezing and coughing. In an effort to find the cause, doctors prescribed medications, antibiotics, shots and a tonsillectomy. Five years later, he injured his back and visited a chiropractor where he learned about the connection of the nervous system with the sinuses. Koehler decided on becoming a chiropractor and dedicating himself to help patients deal with pain.The statistics are scary. In the United States, medical misdiagnosis is the 3rd leading cause of death. Perhaps even more telling is the fact that 80% of the world's pain-killing drugs are consumed by Americans. After reading Dr Koehler's book, I felt inspired to change my habits. As a 40ish man, I thought it was normal to simply gain weight and I unintentionally "accepted" it. After reading this book, I decided to change my attitude and already have lost 20 lbs in only 2 months. I am excited as I continue my journey to my ideal weight.
Gives you much to think about. Conclusion...medication isn't the first line of defense, although it may be needed in some instances. Healthy living is the best strategy for a longer life.
Read this book! I recommend it to everyone but especially to parents! Not only do you need to be diligent in keeping your own body healthy, you are responsible for keeping your children healthy. That is an enormous responsibility! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! The more we know the better we are able to make informed decisions.

What I think makes this book stand out from among the countless titles available on the subject of healthy lifestyles is Dr. Koehler's down to earth communication style, his good-natured sense of humor, and his use of personal and patient stories to show how poor health practices and proactive health practices impact our well being. Reading Dr. Koehler's book is like talking to a smart friend who cares about me getting the most out of my life.

A wonderful book that everyone should have in their personal library! Dr. Craig Koehler has done all the work, providing us with the most recent research on how to bring the "healthy" back into our lifestyles. He's made it simple to understand and simple to access via hyperlinks to all the sources. Having grown up with severe allergies, asthma and challenging health, I know that his choice of going natural over medication whenever one can, is what has improved my health over time. I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out!
Couldn't put this book down!!!! Excellent!!! A MUST READ!!! So informative with great insight into today's health care industry and its illusionary practices. Medicate and overmedicate is surely not the answer!! My Dad, age 81, has diabetes and high BP...doctors have him on 20+ pills a day...more pills prescribed each time he goes to the doctor. UGGG!! His friend is on 30 pills a day at age 95. Seems to be the norm with our Senior generation. A viscous cycle that needs to STOP!!! The author brings a much needed awareness to living a better quality of life healthily and happily. ))
